LEMMINGS by Team17 Software and
SCEE for the PSP brings a host of furry and adorable animals under the guidance
of the player as they try and work their way around dangerous obstacles and
through maze-like environments. The challenge in guiding them to the exits is
that unless players actively intercede, the lemmings will gleefully walk right
into fans, over cliffs, and generally into any form of trouble that they can
find. While the mazes aren’t actually that long, players will find that keeping
a tribe of furry critters in line for even the short amount of time is a much
more difficult task than they first imagined. There are a variety of modes in
which players can engage in. For example, in Tricky there are thirty-six
different levels that are definitely built to test the player’s patience. On the
other hand, players will enjoy going through the Fun stage as it is one of the
easiest and offers them the ability to work with the creatures as they get to
understand and experience the game. One way that the creatures help the players
is that each of them can learn one of eight different tasks that players can
assign to them. These tasks are climber, digger, floater, builder, blocker,
basher, miner and bomber; each job serves to get the lemmings out of some pretty
serious situations. LEMMINGS is perfect for the portable system because it can
be picked up and put down with ease or played for hours.
